Devon James, founder of NKY Clean Used Couches

My name is Devon James. I'm 19 years old and currently attend University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I study Entrepreneurship. I've always had a passion for business, building things, and creating value from hard work.

I started refurbishing furniture in 2019 and have since sold over 200 couches and pieces of furniture. What began as a side hustle turned into a serious business focused on cleaning, restoring, staging, and reselling quality furniture at affordable prices. I take pride in making used furniture look almost brand new again.

I graduated from Highlands High School, where I played varsity football for four years. Football taught me discipline, consistency, leadership, and how to work hard even when things get difficult. Those values now carry over into my business and everyday life.

Outside of school and business, I enjoy fitness, flipping furniture, working with my hands, and building projects from the ground up. My long term goal is to continue growing businesses, investing in real estate, and creating opportunities that make a positive impact on people around me.
